Patooties Jump The Pond for 8th UK Tour

August 22, 2018

We'll be flying out to England early September for our 8th UK tour. After spending a couple of days at drummer John's place in Devon getting ourselves organized, rehearsed, and rested we'll hit the road.

As always we'll be wearing our tourist hats and are already making a list of places to visit as we ramble. Wikipedia and Google are getting a workout!

Here's what's happening on the first leg of our calendar:

We are so excited to be kicking the tour off with a couple of shows with
Ayrshire Rural Touring!

07 September brings us to
The Colmonell Community Centre, Main St, Colmonell, Ayr KA260RY

Ayrshire is such a beautiful part of the world! The last time we were there we saw dolphins swimming off the coast! We are so looking forward to doing some more exploring.

The Colmonell area boasts three ruined castles: Craigneil Castle (thirteenth century), Kirkhill Castle (sixteenth century) and Knockdolian Castle (sixteenth century), so we will be doing a little site-seeing while we are in the area!

Concert starts at 7:30pm.

For tickets email Heather O’Hare, Tel: 01465 881102

08 September brings us just a short drive over to

Kennedy Hall in Dunure, Ayr KA7 4LN

The village is most notable for its ruined mediaeval castle in a clifftop setting, its small former fishing harbour nearby, and (on the opposite side of the castle from the harbour) a small plant maze known as the Dunure Labyrinth.

Our concert starts at 7:30pm.

To order tickets email Andy Guthrie

12 September at
The Dorchester Arts Centre, Corn Exchange, High East Street, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 1HF

We are sharing the stage in this concert with The FB Pocket Orchestra and we think it's going to be a really fun night! Check them out!

Concert starts at 8pm

The Box Office: or ring on 01305 266926.

13 September brings us to Cornwall for the very first time!

The Acorn Theatre, Parade Street in Penzance, Cornwall TR18 4BU.

Start time is 8:00pm.

Gilbert & Sullivan made Penzance home to it's famous pirates. Terry played Frederick years ago in a university production....maybe we can get him back into a pair of tights!

You'll have to come to the concert to find out!

Start time is 8:00pm.

For tickets call 01736 363545 or book online:  Tickets

Meanwhile the sightseeing amigos are going to check out the Egyptian House.

15 September we head back up to Scotland to

The Douglasdale Folk Festival, St Brides Centre, Braehead Douglas, Lanark ML11 0PT

This is our second time playing this fantastic little festival. Love this community!

The evening starts at 7:30 pm.

To order tickets email: Billy Ormiston

We are hoping to get a chance to visit the remains of the medieval Castle Douglas on this trip. The only remains now are those of a 17th century corner tower, still known as "Castle Dangerous", after the Walter Scott novel which took Douglas Castle as its inspiration. The name is all rock & roll!

Here's the comic book version for a quicker read:

16 September we return to The Midland Game Fair, Weston Park, Weston-under-Lizard, Shropshire, UK!

Grab yer shotguns and yer meat-on-a-stick! Our friends in Wisconsin have more in common with the English than they know!

Here's a link to the website.

Our sets run at the Folk Roots Stage 1:20pm and again at 4:15pm.

That's it for the first leg of the tour. We'll take a little break after the Game Fair, then we are back Sept 26 - Oct 21. All concert details can be found on our "Shows Page". Hope to see you out there!
